Spirit of Peaks Tour

Peaks Island has had many faces throughout its history- fishing village, bustling summer resort and strategic World War II fort to name a few. In our 90 minutes, we will encounter the Spirit of Peaks Island by discovering the unique perspectives of island life, leisure activities and picturesque cottages. The tour includes historic sites, photo opportunities and a stop at Battery Steele, the maine World War II installation. The tour may conclude with a visit to the Fifth Maine Museum.

Architecture Tour

Peaks Island is comprised of neighborhoods with idyllic Victorian cottages and unique homes. In our exploration of several of these neighborhoods, we will see what makes each neighborhood distinct- from artist's colonies to contemporary havens of relaxation. Along the way, we will see why Peaks Island has been a recreation destination for over 100 years, and what a century of recereational use has mean for the architectural and visual development of the island. The tour includes a stop at Battery Steele and may also include a visit to the Fifth Maine Museum.

Sunset Tour

The perfect preface to a hearty island dinner or well deserved ice cream. During our 60 minute trip around the island, we will experience island life first hand- from the congestion and craziness surrounding boat time to the time honored tradition of "going Backshore." Join us as we see the sights and hear the stories, all in enough time to catch that perfect Peaks Island sunset of your dreams. Reservations required.

Art Walk Tour

Did you ever dream about being an artist on an island? Stop dreaming and find out what it's really like to be an island artist on the Art Walk Tour. Offered on the last Saturday of every month at 4:30pm in conjunction with the Art Walk and Wander, we will visit several island artists and see the views points which inspire them. Reservations required.

Ghosts and Spirits of Peaks Walking Tour

Ever walked past the Fifth Maine and felt like someone was looking after you? Or why many of us still refer to Hannigan’s as Feeney’s? The truth is that most of us will never really leave the island. Take this tour and you’ll meet some of Peaks Island’s most enduring spirits.
